Sofie Willems joined Tiberghien in 2023. She specialises in international and European tax law, with a particular focus on the complex area of corporation tax and the implementation of Pillar II.
Her academic background and passion for tax law translate into strong expertise in the field of innovation and international regulation. For her master’s thesis on the compatibility of the Belgian innovation allowance with the Pillar II rules, she received the prestigious ‘Bijzondere Waardering’ as part of the AFT Meesterwerk 2023. In addition, Sofie actively contributes to professional literature; for instance, she contributed to the most recent edition of the leading Tiberghien – Handboek voor Fiscaal Recht (2024–2025) for the sections on international and European tax law.
