PRESS RELEASE - WTS Global opens US desk in New York and San Francisco

WTS Global opens US desk in New York and San Francisco to further strengthen its footprint in North America.

The fast-growing global tax practice WTS Global with a representation in more than 100 countries strengthens its footprint in North America by opening offices in New York and San Francisco. By doing so WTS Global is moving closer to its member firms’ US-headquartered clients and will better support European and other international clients doing business in the US.

With effect from September 1, Mark van der Linden will lead both offices as Chief Operating Officer. As a seasoned Dutch/international tax lawyer with 25 years of global tax experience, of which 17 years were spent living and working in the US, he is highly qualified to be the first point of contact for both US multinationals seeking to invest outside the United States as well as European multinationals planning to do business in the US. Understanding the culture on both sides, Mark is ideally positioned to bridge, coordinate and set up teams between the US and WTS Global members throughout the world. Mark is a frequent speaker at international conferences in and outside the US. He will be presenting at the Tax Executive Institute (TEI) 73rd Annual Conference on October 29 in San Diego, California.

Mark will work closely together with WTS Global member firms in the US - Global Tax Management (GTM) and Economics Partners, a high-profile Transfer Pricing boutique firm.

“US and Canada are of immense importance for the global practice”, Wim Wuyts, CEO of WTS Global states “The hiring of Mark van der Linden and the opening of the New York and San Francisco offices are logical next steps after the recently announced exclusive cooperation with LATAXNET, the highly respected legal and tax network covering 18 countries in Latin America.”

“I am extremely passionate about this new role”, Mark van der Linden states in an initial reaction. “Seeing the dynamics of WTS Global, I am looking forward to building a strong North American platform. With the office in San Francisco, the focus will be on high-tech and IT driven companies - a declared focus of WTS Global. Our New York office will be focusing on other industries and service lines and will also host WTS members’ talents from across the globe who will be supporting me in bridging the different regions and jurisdictions and providing real time direct service to our clients. This exciting step forward is timed immaculately with the tax developments in the US and EU/OECD member states, which provides a need for every taxpayer to re-evaluate and potentially redesign their international operational and tax structure.”
